US Beserkley was founded in late 1973 by producer Matthew King Kaufman with the band Earthquake in Berkeley California, By 1977 it's main roster included Earthquake, Greg Kihn, The Rubinoos and Johnathan Richman and the Modern Lovers. The label had it's biggest hit in 1983 with Greg Kihn's "Jeopardy" (by which point he was the label's only artist!). Beserkley folded in 1985 with it's catalogue being licensed by US Rhino Records.
