Gene
Norman
Presents Records
was founded in USA in 1954 by DJ and club owner (the Crescendo in Hollywood)
Gene Norman. It initially had built up a strong Jazz and MOR/Pop roster.
In 1963 Gene sold off his nightclub to focus solely on the recording industry.
At this point the Crescendo name was added. GNP Crescendo's artist roster
expanded to cover ALL types of music.
The
Australian arm of this label started out as releases on Decca, Vogue &
Vocalion with a small credit to GNP Crescendo on the label.
The
label disappeared along with a few other of Festival’s labels when Festival
hit hard times.
