The
GTO label was founded in the UK by Laurence Myers in 1974. The label signed
mainly pop and disco acts such as Billy Ocean, The Dooleys, Heatwave and
released Donna Summer's records in the UK. The
label was sold to CBS Records in 1978. The Donna Summer records moved
to Casablanca Records, and the hits for the other acts began to dry up.
The label closed down in late 1981.
