Glasgow based Linn Records was founded during a test period on turntable
construction. The employees were frustrated with the poor quality of the
specialist test records they were using on job. Linn Executive Chairman,
Ivor Tiefenbrun, took chances and founded a label on his own with the intention
to produce best quality possible. The first albums to be released were
Carol Kidd's debut album and A Walk Across the Rooftops by The Blue Nile.
