USA: Lou Adler was an old friend and lyric writing partner of Herb Alpert. Their original partnership was Herb B. Lou Productions.  After dissolving their partnership, Alpert teamed with Jerry Moss to create A&M Records. Adler went on to found Dunhill Records in 1964. After Dunhill was sold in 1967, Adler founded Ode Records in 1968. 
In Australia, Ode Recordings were issued on the A&M label up to 1974.
