UK RAK was founded in 1970 by producer Mickie Most and manager Peter Grant. 
The boat featured on the label belonged to Mickie Most, and is rumoured to have sunk. 
The label was sold to EMI in 1983.
Prior to 1973, the RAK recordings were issued on the Columbia label in Australia,
starting with DO 9101 (UK RAK 101) in 1970.
