W.B.E.
Records (Wheatley Business Enterprises) was owned & operated by Glen
Wheatley (John Farnham’s manager and former bass-player in The Masters
Apprentices). The label was issued by EMI as John Farnham was still under
contract to EMI (Columbia/HMV). After contract expired, Farnham & Wheatley
went to RCA and renamed the label "Wheatley
Records".
During 2009 Glen Wheatley was sentenced to jail for Tax fraud and spent most of that year behind bars. Currently, John Farnham is in retirement, planning a comeback and tour. Wheatley is now free and still runs Farnham’s interests, but a lot more careful about his tax affairs. |
