Another
Record Club from the end of the 50s. Deutsche Schallplatten-gemeinschaft
from Darmstadt.
They
were launched in 1956 by the Deutsche Buch-Gemeinschaft (DBG) which itself
was launched in 1924 in Berlin and after the war, 1951, moved to Darmstadt.
In 1970 book club DBG - DSG was long gone by then - sold 50% of their shares
to Bertelsmann, who gained complete ownership in 1988.
The
labels were labeled as "Impression" with an extra line "DSG Deutsche Schallplatten-gemeinschaft",
but design and logo were also used on a label "Orpheus", without the extra
DSG line.
Labels
would occasionally include Deutsche Buch-Gemeinschaft logo or include an
EMI/Columbia dual imprint. |
