Polydor
Records was originally an independent branch of the Deutsche Grammophon
Gesellschaft. Its name was first used as an export label in 1924. Polydor
became a popular music label in 1946 while the famously yellow Deutsche
Grammophon seal became a classical music label.
In Norway, the first 45's were made by AS Proton. Nor-Disc took over in 1964. From 1970 by Phonogram and from 1972 by Polydor Norway. Here is a (very incomplete) discography for the Norwegian recordings. |
