Dale
McBride signed with Steve Brodie in 1970, had a country hit with Corpus
Christi Wind in 1971 and formed his own label WMI Records (distr. By CON
BRIO) in summer of 1979. Steve Brodie a longtime music-business man
teamed with partner Leonard Silver and running BEST Records Distr./ GOLD
Distr. Co. and TRANSCONTINENT Record Sales Inc. In Buffalo, N.Y. between
1958 and 1973.
Original
Gold released tracks with connections to Steve Brodie only, tracks he had
produced, i.e. (Wild Weekend/ The Rhythm Rockers) or just artists from
his roster (Dale McBride). Seems Steve Brodie run out of Old Gold.
In January 1973, Len Silver bought out Steve Brodie and formed AMHERST
Records.
Steve
Brodie died of a heart attack on March 15, 2004 in California, age 77.
